The Fifth Circuit Court of appeals issued a decision today upholding the controversial Texas law passed by the Republican majority “prohibiting social media platforms from censoring speech based on the viewpoint of its speaker,” ignoring long-standing precedent that considered only the government and not private companies to be subject to the First Amendment.
